677 people attend Sherburne NY Library Summer Reading Program 2021

Sherburne Public Library has completed its 2021 “Tails & Tales” summer reading program for this year. There were 114 people enrolled in the program, 648 books were read by the 7 and under category, a total of 77,105 pages were read by those in the 8 year old to Adults category and 677 people attended over 20 events throughout the month of July. !

At the awards ceremony, the children’s theater troupe performed, many people played a life-size version of the game Hungry, Hungry Hippos, prizes were given to those who read the most and attended the most large number of events and making their own sundaes were appreciated.

In anticipation of fall, story time with Mr. Mike continues at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. Join him for a story, crafts, and lots of movement and music!

The library brought the Outdoor Trivia Nights back at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays to the lawn. There will also be an opportunity to join via Zoom this year. Watch the Facebook page or contact the library for more information.

Remember our beautiful old front staircase entrance is our only entrance at the moment until the new entrance is fixed after the April accident where someone entered our building. The Sherburne Public Library is located at 2 East State St. in Sherburne. The book drop is at the bottom of the stairs for your convenience. Our hours remain from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday; and from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. Look for the open / closed sign in the front door window.
