GAYLORD — The Otsego County Library’s “Oceans of Possibilities” summer reading program will run from June 15 through August 5.
A special kickoff will take place on June 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Gaylord’s main branch at 700 S. Otsego Ave. Registration materials are also available from Johannesburg branch libraries at Charlton Township offices and Corwith Township. Hall at Vanderbilt from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The 2022 Summer Reading Program is open to everyone – from kindergarten to young adult – with programs, prizes and storytimes. Everyone who signs up for the Summer Reading will receive a Summer Reading Bag full of treats. Each bag will contain a summer reading schedule, activities such as word searches, information and brochures from local community organizations, and small prizes.

Registration for the Summer Reading will automatically enter a participant in the draw that will take place during the final. Preschoolers will have their own “Fish Tales” story time offered Wednesdays at 10 a.m. starting June 22.
The Otsego County Library will host programs with something for everyone, including a drawing class, children’s magic show, ocean and water activities offered by the Sloan Museum, a tour of the Grand Traverse Bay Underwater Conservancy and more.
Residents unfamiliar with the Otsego County Library may not know that thousands of “real books” are supplemented by their digital collection and ongoing programs in technology, crafts, etc
