HARRISVILLE – The Alcona County Library in Harrisville has announced its upcoming programs and events for September.

On Thursdays in September, the Community Walking Club for Everyone will meet at 9 a.m. in the parking lot of the Harrisville branch of the Alcona County Library.
Thursday, Sept. 1, “Catch” a baseball movie starring Robert Redford and Glenn Close, presented by Professor Emeritus John Blakemore at 7 p.m. at the Harrisville branch of the Alcona County Library. Popcorn and soft drinks will be provided.
On Friday, September 2, Tween and Teen Drop-In Craft is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Harrisville branch of the Alcona County Library. The craft is Altered Vinyl Cover Art and is intended for ages 8 and up.
On Fridays in September, story time and crafts for children begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Harrisville branch of the Alcona County Library.
From Saturday, September 3 through Monday, September 5, all Alcona County Library locations (Harrisville, Caledonia, Lincoln, and Mikado) will be closed to observe Labor Day.
On Tuesdays, September 6 and 20, Knitting Klub & Crochet will meet from 1:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. at the Harrisville branch of the Alcona County Library. All ages and levels are welcome.
On Wednesday, September 7, the Friends of the Alcona County Library will meet at 1 p.m. at the Harrisville branch.
On Thursday, September 8 at 7 p.m., the library will host a virtual conference with Ron Waldo, author of “Hazen ‘Kiki’ Cuyler: A Baseball Biography,” with an interactive question-and-answer session, at the Harrisville branch of the county. Alcona Library.
On Wednesday, September 14, Teen Movie and Munchies will be at 2 p.m. at the Harrisville branch of the Alcona County Library, for ages 13 and up. Enjoy a school-themed movie and a fun snack.
On Thursday, September 15, a “Kiki and Harrisville” panel discussion will be held at 7 p.m. at the Harrisville branch of the Alcona County Library with members of the Cuyler/Kruttlin family and local people who knew or were influenced by Kiki.
On Sunday, September 18, an “Old Timers” baseball game will be held at 1 p.m. at Cuyler Park at the north end of Lake Street, weather permitting. The rainy date is September 25.
On Tuesday, September 20, the Alcona Book Club will meet from noon to 1 p.m. at the Harrisville branch of the Alcona County Library. September’s selection is “The Salt Path” by Raynor Winn.
On Thursday, Sept. 22, the library will host a virtual talk at 7 p.m. with Jim Haller of the Heinz History Center in Pittsburgh, on “Growing Up With Baseball,” featuring an interactive Q&A at the County Library’s Harrisville branch. from Alcona. .
On Tuesday, September 27, the Alcona County Library and all of its branches (Harrisville, Caledonia, Lincoln, Mikado and Glennie) will be closed for staff training.
On Wednesday, September 28, the Alcona County Library Board will meet at 2 p.m. at the Mikado branch.
