The Big Bad Wolf is live this year, and here’s everything you need to know about the world’s biggest book-selling event taking place virtually in the Philippines in a matter of weeks.
What is happening?
For everyone’s safety amid the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s Big Bad Wolf book sale will be held on its official site from June 30 to July 7, 2021.
The 8-day online event will go live on June 30 at midnight and will be open 24/7 until July 7.
What’s going to be?
More than 60,000 titles will be up for grabs with prices reduced up to 99% off the recommended retail price, Big Bad Wolf Book Sale co-founder Jacqueline Ng announced Thursday at a press conference in line.
The selection includes books for all ages and stages, ranging from bestselling novels, science fiction, romance, literature and graphic novels to business books, self-help, architecture books, cookbooks and much more.
Additionally, the Book Sale also has a wide selection of children’s books, including picture books, activity books, coloring books, and interactive books, to name a few.
Don’t worry about being overwhelmed: the website has organized the titles by category, and there’s also a search bar to direct you to your dream book.
Discounts, prices
Good news: Free shipping is guaranteed for those making a minimum net purchase of PHP 2,900 (applicable for deliveries to the Philippines only).
You can also choose from a selection of PHP10 books if you make a minimum purchase of PHP 1,800 (selection of book titles only).

How do I pay?
When you think your basket is full, click Checkout and make an online payment.
Payment options will include GCash, BDO, Dragonpay, eGHL, Grab Pay, etc.
How will I receive my books?
“Shipping costs are calculated based on weight and location,†Ng explained at the launch.
“So let’s say I’m someone who lives in Manila and I bought let’s say five pounds of about 3kg, it will only cause PHP145.
However, as we mentioned earlier, those who make a minimum net purchase of P2,900 will automatically qualify for free shipping.
Unfortunately, COD or COD payment will not be available for this next book sale for logistical reasons.
Ng also said purchases will be shipped from Malaysia, which could take “between 18 and 24 business days†for orders to arrive.
