Book Sale to Help Launch Library’s Summer Reading Program | WLife


Friends of the Williamson County Public Library will be hosting their quarterly book sale May 20-22 at the main branch of the Williamson County Public Library in Franklin, and it will also help kick off Williamson’s summer reading program. the library.

The popular used book sale will feature thousands of books in like-new condition with prizes including $3 for the hardback, $2 for the trade paperback, $1 for the children’s hardback and 50 cents for the soft cover for children. Coffee table books will be $5, and some autographed and vintage books will be priced individually. There will be boxes and boxes of paperbacks during this sale.

On Saturday, the WCPLS Oceans of Possibilities Summer Reading Program will kick off with a celebration between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. with outdoor lawn games and food trucks available. Residents of all ages are invited to register for the Summer Reading Program beginning May 19 with Beanstack at

The Friends members preview for advance purchases will take place on May 20 from 9-10 a.m. before doors open to the public. Current members and new members can renew or join online or at the door for $20, or $30 for family membership, $50 for silver and $100 for gold membership.

Regular hours of sale will be Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday will feature an all day $10 bag sale. Plastic shopping bags will be distributed to shoppers and the bags can be filled to the top.

The Friends Book Store, located inside the main library rotunda, is always stocked with great selections at second-hand sale prices. Patrons pay using an honor box and all proceeds go to the library.
