The library is now open to the public. Library hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday hours are 10 a.m. at 1 p.m. Our schedules are subject to change due to bad weather at this time of year. Please monitor our social media and website as changes will be announced there as soon as possible.

If you feel sick in any way, please do not use our library services in person; curbside services are always available upon request. We also strongly recommend that our library users wear a mask or face covering for their safety and that of our staff and others.

Please note that the evolving response to the ongoing Covid pandemic may alter our hours or policies at any time. Follow us on Facebook and in the newspaper for hours/service changes.

The Book Cellar Annex in Town Square is now open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday. A $5-a-bag book sale runs through the end of March.

Showcase of the arts in education: Gallery exhibition from February 19 to March 19 at the library.

The North Carolina Humanities Council is sponsoring an online book club for 2022 featuring books that explore issues of racial, social, and gender equality. The March book is The Last Ballad by Wiley Cash. Registration is compulsory and copies of the book can be borrowed from the library. The event is March 30 and copies of the book are limited. The Statewide Star Party event will take place at the library on April 9 from 8:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

CURRENT EVENTS:

Story time will be virtual for the time being as a Covid precaution. Join Miss Karen on Thursdays at 11am. on Facebook.

Crafternoon activities will be available on the last Thursday of the month.

Wednesday Book Club: The next meeting will be at the library on April 20 at 10 a.m. The April book is Even As We Breathe by Annette Clapsaddle.

Ales & Tales Book Club: meets the third Sunday of each month at 2:00 p.m. at Homeplace Brewery. The next meeting is set for March 20 and the book is The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson
