CHICAGO — DePaul Athletics and Wintrust are continuing their partnership for the 2021-22 school year to provide a free reading program to Chicagoland students in sixth grade and below. The program, known as Wintrust Reads, encourages young learners to develop strong goal-setting and nurturing habits that enhance understanding, improve analytical skills and spark the imagination.
To pass the program, students must read for a total of 300 minutes and submit a reading scorecard to DePaul Athletics. Upon completion, students will be eligible to receive two free tickets to a selected DePaul Basketball game and will also receive a certificate and an exclusive school kit.
Reward games include:
- January 14 – Women’s Basketball vs. Villanova
- January 29 – Men’s Basketball vs. Connecticut
- Feb. 6 – Women’s Basketball vs. Providence
- Feb. 9 – Men’s Basketball vs. Georgetown
- February 25 – Women’s Basketball vs. Seton Hall
- March 2 – Men’s Basketball vs. Marquette
DePaul Athletics and Wintrust are also teaming up to update and expand the Wintrust Reads Virtual Kids Library video series to showcase new Blue Demon student-athletes throughout March in honor of National Reading Month. . This online library is designed to showcase children’s books that shed light on valuable life lessons.
Further enhancing the goals of the program, DePaul Athletics offers participants the opportunity to get involved in the Junior Savers Club, a children’s education and activity club offered by Wintrust Financial Corporation.
