Two years of the pandemic have forced the hiatus of one of Oregon’s largest used book sales, but book lovers will be welcomed back to Manzanita on May 27-28, 2022 – the weekend of Memorial Day – to browse thousands of lightly used fiction, non-fiction, children’s books and more.
The huge sale, the biggest fundraising event for Friends of the North Tillamook Library, the nonprofit organization that owns the library building and grounds in Manzanita, will take place at three venues on Ave. Laneda: the Pine Grove Community House, the Hoffman Center for the Bible Church of the Arts and Calvary. All three locations are within easy walking distance of each other along the main street of Manzanita.
Dedicated volunteers sorted and cataloged the large number of donated books that have accumulated since 2020 for what will be the largest sale ever at Manzanita. Fiction and children’s books will be presented at Pine Grove. The church’s Fellowship Hall and the Hoffman Center will host non-fiction titles.
Members of Library Friends can participate in a two-hour “presale” on May 27 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. You can renew your membership or become a member before the sale by visiting the Friends website (https://www.northtillamooklibrary.org/become-a-member), filling out a library membership form or joining the door at the sale.
All members of the public can visit all sites from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 28.
Volunteers are needed for the sale. If you are interested in participating, please contact Madeline Olson, who leads the Friends book sales team, at: [email protected]
