This month’s activity list at the Pine Island Public Library has topics for all ages. The following programs are free to the public.

Adult Programs

Download Drop-In

5 p.m., Wednesdays January 5 and 19

Receive personalized help downloading eBooks, movies, music, and more from Overdrive and Hoopla, two of the Lee County Library System’s largest online content providers. Bring your fully charged digital device for this hands-on help session.

Technical Thursday: individual help

3:30 p.m., Thursday January 13, 27

Need help with a laptop, tablet or e-reader? Are you looking to acquire basic computer skills? We can help. Bring your fully charged device and all passwords for a 15 minute one-on-one tech session. Registration is compulsory.

Board games

2 p.m., Saturday January 15

Meet new friends while learning to play board and card games in this program for all ages. A variety of games suitable for all skill levels and ages will be available. First come, first served.

Libby, Hoopla and electronic resources

11 a.m., Saturday January 22

What is an electronic resource? What are Overdrive, Libby and Hoopla? How many electronic resources can I use with my library card? Learn how to download eBooks, Movies, Music, and more from Overdrive / Libby and Hoopla. Also discover other electronic resources accessible with your Lee County library card. Note: Make sure to charge your device and bring any passwords you might need to download apps. Kindle users will also need an Amazon account and password to access it.

9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Friday January 28 and Saturday January 29

Relax and inspire others while creating your own art project using a variety of available materials. Perfect for adults, children and teens. Handicrafts will be provided. First come, first served.

Children read fines

4-7 p.m., Wednesdays Jan. 5, 12, 19, 26

12 p.m. to 4 p.m., Saturdays Jan. 8, 15, 22, 29

Children and teens can earn $ 2 credit on overdue fines for every 15 minutes they read in the designated area for a total of $ 8 in one session. Please bring your library card.

Family story time

10:30 a.m., Tuesdays Jan. 11, 18, 25

For children up to 5 years old and caregivers. Families with young children enjoy a variety of stories, songs, nursery rhymes and movements. Space is limited. First come, first served.
