Beloved singer-songwriter Dolly Parton has always been able to tell a compelling story through music and lyrics, but now she’s put those storytelling skills on the page with her debut novel, “Run, Rose, Run. “. The book is slated for March 7.

Parton and her co-author, bestselling author James Patterson, appear in a virtual event March 6 at 4:30 p.m. hosted by Kepler’s Books to celebrate the book’s release.

“Run, Rose, Run” tells the story of a promising young singer-songwriter who came to Nashville to pursue a career. She hopes to leave behind the difficult life she came from, but her past may catch up with her.

Parton also wrote 12 songs for a companion album “Run, Rose, Run” for the novel, which will be released March 4.

Parton, who is also known as an actress and philanthropist, has not only written over 3,000 songs but has also written a children’s book and non-fiction works. Literacy is one of her main areas of interest, her non-profit Dolly Parton Imagination Library having donated millions of books to children.
