WORTHINGTON – The Nobles County Library, 407 12th St., Worthington, is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The Adrian Branch Library, 214 Maine Ave., Adrian, is open noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon to 5 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Author’s visit: Kate Towle will visit the Nobles County Library in Worthington at 6:30 p.m. on January 27. Towle is the author of “Sweet Burden of Crossing”, a book detailing the story of two college students in the 1980s as they share their father’s journey. loss that binds them together and extends their bond in deep and surprising ways.

Towle will host an interactive presentation and discussion. Reading the book is not compulsory. Please mark it on your calendars and join us!

Winter reading program: The winter reading program begins January 3 and ends March 31. Go to one of the library branches from January 3 to register and get your punch card. Read 12 books (or audiobooks / e-books) and bring back your punch card to choose your prize! All participants are entered into the grand prize draw at the end of the program. (Must be at least 16 years old to participate.)

Monthly Sci-Fi / Fantasy Book Club: Meetings are held at 6 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month. We’ll be discussing how each of our books connects to the theme of the month and what we liked / hated about the book. Call 295-5340 or send an email [email protected] register.

Saturdays without a screen: The Adrian Branch Library organizes screenless Saturdays every Saturday until May 21 (excluding holiday weekends). Kindergarten to Grade 8 students are invited to come outside and play games from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the library. Bring your favorite board game or play a game available from the library.

Registration requested at the library or by calling 295-5340. Students are responsible for their return trip to the library and must be picked up by 5:00 p.m.

  • Wednesday: Storytime for toddlers and preschoolers, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

  • Thursday: after school program (levels K-5), after school until 4:45 p.m.

  • Jan 10: Just Gurlz (girls in grades 5-9), after school until 4:45 p.m.

  • Tuesday: After school program (levels K-5), after school until 4:45 p.m.
