Millbrook Public Library will have its summer reading program starting May 16and until July 29and. This year’s theme is “Oceans of Possibilities”. This is for children aged four to twelve, reading independently. These should be library books and preferably at the child’s reading level. Entries for the daily raffle can be entered from May 17and ahead. Prizes will be awarded daily, Monday through Friday, starting May 23rd until July 28and.
For each chapter book read, a name entry can be placed in the drawing bucket. For picture book readers, one entry can be placed in the drawing bucket for every three books read. Once you have won a daily prize, you are no longer eligible to win another one. After winning a daily prize, you are now entering for fun and for a chance to win one of many BIG prizes to be drawn from the bucket on the last day of the program, July 29th.and.
Throughout the summer, please let the library know the total number of books your child has read. They will have a scoreboard to track the number of books read. The library’s goal is to read 2,000 books by the end of the summer.
In addition, during the summer, every Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. from May 25and, the library will have movie days. Take your child to the library and watch a family movie together. Every Thursday at 10:00 a.m. from May 26and, a craft at story time will take place. The following crafts will be done during the summer:

It’s amazing how much a child can learn by reading books, as well as improving their reading level. You can also try your luck at winning a prize, watching movies every week, doing fun crafts, and reading books together.
