An online condolence book has been opened following the sad news of the death of GMFRS Deputy Fire Chief (ACFO) Steve Morgan.

Steve, who was Director of Service Development at GMFRS, sadly passed away on Wednesday December 15 at the age of 49.

He joined GMFRS in April 2021 after working in the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service for over 20 years.

Steve was a hardworking firefighter who was dedicated to protecting the public he served. He will be sadly missed by everyone at GMFRS and our hearts go out to Steve’s family and friends at this difficult time.

Friends, colleagues and members of the public are invited to share a message on the online condolence book below.

When sending your condolences, you will be asked to submit your name and any message you wish to share in Steve’s memory. Please note that when you share your condolences through this forum, your full name and comments Will not do will be made available to others, but will be collected and shared with Steve’s family.

All information that we process will be provided by you for the purposes of the online condolence book.

The online condolence page will remain open for a period of 14 days, after which the information will be held for an additional 10 days before being shared with Steve’s family and securely deleted by the GMCA.
