CHEERS! from the Prince Edward County Public Library to St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church in Picton for a donation in support of the library’s new 1,000 pre-kindergarten program.
The presentation was made to welcome Martha Riddell to the ministerial team. Riddell recently completed his Master of Divinity degree from Trinity College, University of Toronto and brings his experience with child and family ministry to Toronto.
In her role over the next two years, she will engage in all aspects of parish ministry with the support of Rector Charles Morris.
One area of ââinterest will be reaching out in the community to connect with families and community partners.
The goal of the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program is to provide a simple, innovative, yet fun approach to building strong early literacy skills. The library will help young children gain the confidence to be successful readers with a proven, easy-to-follow program.
Visit branches for full details on how your family can read 1,000 books before entering school, sign up and receive a bag of loot!
Please note that proof of vaccination for clients 12 years and older is required.
