The Friends of Rockport Public Library will hold its first book sale of the year on Friday, May 20 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, May 21 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Rockport Public Library, 1 Limerock St., Rockport. The sale will take place in the Rockport room. A variety of books are available, from fiction, mystery, history, biography, cookbooks, art, Maine, children’s books and a “specials” table. Along with all of these books there will be DVDs, CDs, puzzles and more.
All funds raised will be donated directly to the Rockport Public Library. The funds are used to purchase new library materials, programs and supplies for children and adults, multimedia resources, and technology and equipment for the library. Recently, FRPL donated for new security gates to the library and the organization is donating three new stacks of books, which will allow for better spacing of the current collection and an area for display.
Only checks and cash are accepted for sale. Become a Friends member and save 10% on all sales, with all proceeds going to the library. Individual memberships are $15; family memberships are $20 and patron memberships are $50.
To volunteer to help with table and book set-up, cashiering, and cleanup, simply let the library know you’re interested in helping. For more information and volunteer opportunities during the sale, call the Rockport Public Library at 236-3642.
