Pupils at a school in Skelton will be able to get their noses in a good book thanks to a £250 donation.

The money was donated to Skelton Primary School, on Station Lane, Skelton, Saltburn-by-the-Sea by the Durham division of homebuilder Bellway.

The donation was used to provide new fiction books for the school library which were chosen by the children themselves.

Director Sarah Walker said: “We are very grateful to Bellway for making this donation to our reading offering.

“Our children love to read and an improvement in our book stocks will make a big difference for children today and in years to come.”

Hayley Teasdale, Sales Manager for Bellway Durham, said: “It is always important for us, when building in new areas, to help support the local community as much as possible – and help improve the facilities of the local school is a great way to do this.

“We hope all the children will enjoy their new books and we hope this is the start of a lasting relationship with the school.”
