“An outreach vehicle is a powerful step in reaching even more customers and promoting an environment of curiosity and a love of reading, regardless of location,” said WWPL Executive Director Sheryl Sollars. “The proximity vehicle will be used initially to deliver books to residents of assisted living facilities and residences for the elderly. We hope to eventually send it to underserved neighborhoods, local parks and community events as well. »
In addition to borrowing books, audiobooks and DVDs, residents who visit the proximity vehicle can also obtain a library card and use the vehicle’s free Wi-Fi.
In order to fill the outreach vehicle with new material, the Westfield Library Foundation has launched a new fundraising campaign. Suggested donations are:
- $15 for a children’s book
- $25 for an adult novel or large print book
- $50 for a Wonderbook
- $75 for two audiobooks
- $100 for five films
